Our Story
From San Diego to Boston and now to Portland, our 9 years of being together has made it across the continent and back. We first met in a community service club at San Diego State University called Circle K - the college branch of a better known organization called Kiwanis. Over the years of telling this story, we have said "Yes - like the gas station" countless times.
Through some happenstance encounters and some clever work by mutual friends, one thing led to another, and "soo... what should I call you" turned into a relationship. As two kids in the midst of their undergraduate degrees, we dreamt of a long future together.
Post grad took Megan to Boston University, and after 6 months of long distance, Gautam was fortunate to land a job in Cambridge and make the cross-country move to be with Megan. This move was just a few weeks before the COVID-19 lockdown, which need not be spoken about anymore...
Boston brought many unforgettable memories and added lifelong friends to the roster. As Megan was soon to graduate with her DPT, deciding what was next for us took up a lot of brain space. Would we stay in Boston? Would we go back to California?
After speaking with our friend Haley about her plans to move to Portland, Oregon after graduating, Gautam took a little scroll through the Portland job boards that evening and applied to a job on a whim. Well - you're headed to Portland for this wedding, so you must know what happened next!
It has been almost four years of us calling this place home. In that time, we've ran six half marathons together and recently a full marathon, got engaged on the cliffs of Torrey Pines, enjoyed many trips to the gorgeous Oregon coast and the Columbia Gorge, ate at countless restaurants that are worth writing home about, and have had enough coffee to kill a horse.
The next part of the story involves everyone reading this page. Thank you for what you've already done to be a part of the story, and we look forward to seeing you for what's next.
